Britain’s most peaceful staycations
New research has found the UK’s most peaceful staycations.
Fairy Pools, Isle of Skye
Barafundle Bay, Pembrokeshire
White Cliffs of Dover
Buttermere, Lake District
Polperro, Cornwall
Scotland’s Fairy Pools topped the list of peaceful attractions in the UK and were described as “breathtaking”.
The team said: “A truly tranquil location situated in Glen Brittle on the Isle of Skye, the Fairy Pools are a natural waterfall phenomenon, with beautiful series of waterfalls offering breathtaking views combined with the peaceful sound of running water.
“You can enjoy a stunning walk from the car park up to the Fairy Pools whilst appreciating the spectacular views of the Cullin Mountain.”
Wild swimming is possible at the Fairy Pools if tourists don’t mind braving the water, which is very cold.
The stunning pools are the perfect place to unwind and relax before heading to a pub to warm up in front of a log fire.
